Millennium Refrigeration & Air Conditioning wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, or browsers with motion reduced.
The standard we are working to
We are working towards WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The site has not yet been formally audited against that standard, so we are describing what has been done rather than claiming conformance we have not tested.
What has been built in
- A skip to main content link as the first focusable element on every page.
- A visible focus outline on every interactive element, checked for contrast against the backgrounds it appears on.
- One H1 per page, with headings in a logical order and no skipped levels. Decorative text such as step numbers and eyebrow labels is not marked up as headings.
- Reduced motion support — where a visitor’s system asks for reduced motion, entrance and scroll animations are switched off.
- Colour combinations chosen to meet AA contrast ratios for body and interface text.
- Link text that describes its destination, rather than repeated “Learn more” or “Read more” labels.
- Telephone and email addresses as real
tel: and mailto: links so they can be activated directly. - A sticky mobile call bar positioned so it does not obscure form buttons or cookie controls.
Known limitations
We would rather list these than imply the site is finished.
- Images are placeholders. Final photography has not yet been supplied, so alternative text has not been written for the images currently shown.
- Third-party components. Some interactive components come from plugins. Their keyboard behaviour and ARIA markup have not yet been individually audited.
- No formal audit. Automated and manual testing across assistive technologies is planned before launch, not completed.
